# Branches

> Split your Opmaint account into branches, and switch between them.

A branch is your main site: a plant, a store or a facility. If your company has plants or stores in different cities, each one is its own branch. For example, a retail chain might have a Chennai branch, a Bengaluru branch and a Coimbatore branch.

Each branch has its own work orders, assets and other records, and each user is given access to the branches they work in. Inside a branch, you organise the site further with [locations, zones and subzones](/locations-and-zones).

| Level | Example |
| - | - |
| **Branch** | Chennai plant |
| **Location** | A place within that branch |
| **Zone** | An area inside a location |
| **Subzone** | A smaller area inside a zone |

## Switch branch

**1. Open the branch selector**

Click the branch name at the top of the left sidebar, just below your organisation name.

**2. Pick a branch**

Choose the branch you want, or type in **Search branch** to find it.

Everything you create, such as a work order or an asset, goes into the branch you are in. Check the branch name before you start.

## See all branches

Click your organisation name at the top left and choose **All Branches**.

On **Home**, the **Dashboard scope** lets you look at one branch or all of them together.

## Give users access to branches

Choose a user's branches in the **Branch** field when you create them, or in **Branches** when you invite them. See [Users and roles](/users-and-roles).

## Organisation menu

Click your organisation name at the top of the sidebar for **Plan & Billing**, **Settings**, **All Branches**, **Profile** and **Sign out**.
