# Data export

> Take your maintenance data out of Opmaint for audits, reviews or your own analysis.

Your data is yours. Opmaint lets you export your records to a spreadsheet whenever you need them outside the app.

## Ways to export

| What you need | Where |
| - | - |
| A list of records as a spreadsheet | The **Export**, **Export Excel** or **Export List** button on most list pages, such as Work Orders, Assets, Parts, Meters, Requests and Users |
| Meter readings | **Meters** > **Export Meter Readings** |
| One work order as a PDF | The work order's **Report** button. See [Download a work order report](/work-order-report) |
| Many completed work orders at once | **Download Centre** > **Export ZIP**. See [Download centre](/download-centre) |
| Your data in import format | **Settings** > **Bulk Import** > **Download data**. See [Bulk import](/bulk-import) |

## Common reasons to export

* **Audits and inspections.** Hand an auditor the maintenance history for a set of assets or a period.
* **Management reviews.** Pull numbers into your own monthly or quarterly report.
* **Your own analysis.** Combine maintenance data with production, sales or finance data in Excel or a BI tool.
* **Backups.** Keep a periodic copy for your own records.

## Tips

* **Filter before you export.** Narrow down to the location, asset type or date range you need, so the file is ready to use.
* **Check the built-in reports first.** Many questions are already answered in [Reports and dashboards](/reports-and-dashboards), without any spreadsheet work.
