# Teams

> Group users into teams so work can be assigned to the right crew.

A team is a group of users who handle the same kind of work, such as the electrical team, the mechanical team, the utilities team or the night shift.

## Create a team

**1. Start a new team**

Click **Teams** in the left sidebar, then **Add Team**.

**2. Fill in the details**

* **Team Name** (required)
* **Team Members** (required): the users in this team
* **Team Description**

**3. Create**

Click **Create**.

Create your [users](/users-and-roles) first so you can add them as members. A user can belong to more than one team.

## Where teams are used

* **Work orders:** assign a job to a whole team with the **Teams** field.
* **Assets and locations:** set a **Responsible Team**.
* **Meters:** members of **Responsible Teams** can fill in readings.
* **Workflows:** assign a team to each stage.
