A checklist is a reusable inspection form: the steps or checks a technician fills in on a job. Checklists live under Inspection in the left sidebar.

Create a checklist

1

Open templates

Go to Inspection > Templates and click + Create Template.
2

Name it

Enter a Template Name, such as “Daily DG set check”.
3

Add fields

Click + Add Field and pick a field type. Repeat for each check.
4

Create

Click Create Template.

Field types

Use OK / Not OK or Yes/No for quick pass or fail checks, Number Range for readings that must fall between limits, and Photo where you need proof the check was done.

Use a checklist

  • On a work order: pick it in the Checklist field when you create a work order.
  • In a workflow: each workflow stage runs a checklist. See Workflows.

Manage checklists

On Inspection > Templates, click the … menu on a checklist’s row to Copy ID, View Details, Edit, Duplicate or Delete it. Click Export to download the list.

Review responses

Go to Inspection > Responses to see every submitted checklist. Search, save views and choose columns to find what you need.

Writing good checklists

  • One check per line. “Check oil level” and “Check belt tension” are two fields, not one.
  • Use the words your team uses on the floor.
  • Keep it short. If a checklist runs long, split it with Section Title or into separate checklists.
