Everything in Opmaint points to something else. An asset sits in a zone, a zone sits in a location, a work order is raised on an asset and assigned to a user. Set things up in this order and each step has what it needs from the one before.
1

Add your locations

Make sure you are in the right branch, your plant or store, then create the locations within it. See Locations and zones.
2

Add zones and subzones

Break each location into the physical areas where equipment actually sits, such as a utility block, a production hall or a floor.
3

Create asset types

Group similar equipment, such as compressors, DG sets, chillers or fire extinguishers, so you can filter and report on them together.
4

Build your asset register

Add every asset with its type, location and zone. See Assets.
5

Invite your team

Add users, give each one the right role, and group them into teams. See Users and roles and Teams.
6

Add vendors and parts

Add the suppliers and contractors you work with, then your spare parts stock. See Vendors and Parts and inventory.
7

Set up checklists and meters

Write the checklists your technicians follow, and add meters for anything you read, such as running hours, energy or flow. See Checklists and Meters.
8

Schedule preventive maintenance

Turn routine jobs into recurring work so nothing depends on memory. See Preventive maintenance.
9

Start running work orders

Raise, assign and close jobs from the web or the mobile app. See Work orders.
Have a lot of data in spreadsheets? Opmaint supports bulk imports for assets, asset types, locations, zones, subzones, teams, users, vendors, parts, meters, meter readings, work orders and checklists. Our team usually handles this as part of onboarding.
